In this electrical circuit or electrical system, we listen this so much that "this is a single wire system, or this is two wire system, or this is three wire system" etc. So, this article is all about to learn and discuss about these things, single, two and three wires system in electrical system. First of all we should know that we have a phase and neutral wires, what they work in electrical system?
Phase: Phase wire has electrons which flow to neutral wire via load.
Neutral: Neutral wire is empty wire which receive electrons from phase.
Single Wire & Two Wire System
If we define 'single wire system simply', so, this system has two wires, one is phase and second is neutral wire. Current flow from phase to neutral via load. This system is known as single wire system. Also, this system is known as two wires system or single phase system.
Three Wire System
In 'Three wire system', we have 3 phase commonly known as "red, yellow and blue phase" and a neutral wire. In this system, we have total four wires but three phase. This "three wire system has high voltage because of 3 phases, and high torque which is used for high machineries.
