Complete Wiring of Allen Bradley VFD

In this article we are going to learn and discuss about the wiring of Allen bradley variable frequency drive (VFD). Let's start from the diagram of Allen bradley variable frequency drive (VFD). Below is a designed diagram, actual diagram of external wiring of Allen Bradley variable frequency drive (VFD). In this diagram, we have lined the PLC to Allen Bradley variable frequency drive (VFD) but in this article we will just learn the simple wiring of Allen Bradley variable frequency drive (VFD).

On the top of Allen Bradley variable frequency drive (VFD). there is the input terminals in which you have to connect three phase input, or you can connect just single phase input. Both will work okay. Between the connection in the input, you can connect breaker (circuit breaker) or contactor to break the circuit.

Below terminals are control terminals from 1 to 6. The details of terminals, their numbers and meanings you can get in the video below. Then, the next 1 to 4 terminals are for input supply to control frequency from external source. For example, we use potentiometer to give input to Allen Bradley variable frequency drive (VFD). We have to connect potentiometer wires to this terminals. More terminals details are shown in below picture.
