How To Use Counter With Data Register in Fatek PLC Programming & WinProladder

After discussing the both functions, counters and data register, its time to discuss and learn about how To Use Counters with Data Register in Fatek PLC Programming & WinProladder software. As we have discussed that data registers are use to store any value either of counters, timers or of any other components. Counters are rarely use in PLC programming as well as timers. So let's start learning about counters with data registers.

Firstly, we have to make a sample program in which we will use two counters, one addition function and one data register. The purpose of this sample PLC program is to make concepts of using counters with data registers in Fatek PLC programming and WinProladder. So let's start creating project in WinProladder. Please follow these steps to create this PLC program in WinProladder step by step with me.

Using Counter With Pulse Signal Input

First, place a pulse signal input, which is "M1922" in WinProladder and Fatek PLC programming. In the output side, put a counter there which will count the value of input pulses. In the next network, take another pulse signal input "M1922" and another counter "C2" as shown below.

In the output of counters (CUP), I have connected a coil contacts, which will be energized when counters will reach to higher value (PV). I also have connected a normally open contact with “CLR” terminal which I will use to reset the counter. Let’s start this circuit with simulation.

As you can see above, the “M1922” pulse input giving pulses continuously and counters are counter that pulses. Now, I am going to connect an “adding function” to add both values. I am also using a data register to note that sum values.

So everything is working properly and we have done successfully. Please write below if anything you want to know more about it, in the comment box,
