For example, the package that we can buy in ebay is usually not the official arduino board. It is some more cheep compatible board, still i am using that and everything is working as expected.

Let's see the content of such starter kit, so you will see "endless" components that are coming here in the middle you can see the arduino board itself, while using different name, not "arduino" because this is compatible board and many many small items that are needed for building circuits, like capacitor, diode, switch button, display, leds and so on. And all kind of sensors and cables that we are going to us in different levels in our training program, so that's definitely very cost effective to buy some kit tha will help you to start your journey with arduino. You are getting of course the original arduino board, ok you can see the things that you are getting with that platform. If i will compare it to other kits this is like. Maybe i am getting the orginal arduino board but i am getting much less of components

If i will click on some one than you can see that for example this is not an original arduino board. This is compatible board but as i said i am completely ok with that, it is working for me.

Just make sure that your purchasing the arduino uno board r3, because there are also other types of arduino boards. If i will go down for example you have another type of boardm, that's the one and also that's ok, i will recommend if you are only starting with arduino and arduino uno r3 is more than fine to build many many interesting things. Also there are dedicate suppliers just for the all eco-system related to arduino.
