How To Use Internal Counter in Delta VFD

Now you know in the Delta VFD, we have an internal counter, which has to use to count an event and when event is complete and you do not want that event should occur, you have to show it on your drive, so you can count that event. For example you have a limit switch and limit switch is pressed ten times in an application and you want drive to stop, or some sensor if in the circuit and you want after ten times, motor should be stopped, so how we can achieve that.

First of all we have to assign the counter terminal, which terminal should be used to count the counter. So we can assign any control terminal from M0 to m5 and, let's take M3 for this case. So M3 is, we have, parameter 40 and we have to assign a counter trigger signal which is in number 18. This will start counter and will start counting.

Now, when it start counting, it needs a counter reset terminal to reset it. To reset the counter (if need), we have to take "M4 control terminal which is parameter number 41 and value that we have to set for counter reset is 19.

Now, next step is, fault reset because we have to reset a fault which will occur on the screen "ER". To reset this fault, we have parameter number 41 and we have to put value 05 to reset the fault.

Then, we have to put counter value, how much value you need to count. so that comes in parameter number 96 which is counter countdown complete and we have to put the value that you want to count.

In the last, we have to put another parameter in delta vfd which is "counter completion action". What should be happened when the counter complete its count. Go to parameter number 139 and set value there. There are two options we have, first one is "continue operation" and second is "stop immediately and display E.F." Enter 01 in parameter 139. Start your circuit and test.
