In this lesson, we are going to discuss about jog mod in delta vfd. When you do the maintenance of the motor or machines, and want to switch ON the motor just for an instance. In that case, if your command frequency is higher, let's says, if command frequency is 31 hertz, then if you will start the motor, this will run in very high speed right. But you do not want that, you want motor to run in very slow speed, in that case, we set a jog mod in delta vfd.
In the jog mod, we assign a separate terminal to run the jog mod. Now, so what are the steps for that. Step is first we must have a jog frequency and its own jog acceleration and deceleration time. So if you see the perimeter of jog mod, in the manual of delta vfd, the parameter is pr-16 which is by default 6 volts, and its acceleration and deceleration is 1 second. Now the question is, how motor will run in the jog mod?
For running the motor in jog mod, we have to assigned any of the control terminals (MO-M5) to run the jog mod. Let's say if M3, I will run from m3 terminal. If m3 is given a ground directly, or if you turn ON Y3, which is connected to M3 terminal, motor should be running in the jog mod. That is the task.

For that, we have assign the function to m3, we have a dedicated parameter which is mentioned in the manual of delta vfd, the parameter is p4-40. This parameter says, M3 can be given so many functions as mentioned in the manual of delta vfd. By default, this parameter is in 08, we have to set to 09 which is for jog mod. Set this parameter, the jog mode will be activated and will operate the motor in fix frequency and slowly.
