How to set Frequency by AVI in Delta VFD

The second source of frequency control, which is one of the best command to drive, you can assign two frequency source. As we know the first frequency source command is potentiometer which is mounted on the Delta VFD. The second source of frequency command, suppose, this is PLC analog module from where I want to control frequency of the drive. So to use external source, we have to change the source of frequency to AVI, then I can do that. But in case, I want to do this from selector switch, to quickly change the frequency command source from first to second source, so how we can do that.

First of all, we can do this from first source which is potentiometer and second source is AVI (O-10 volts). To select the second source of frequency in your delta vfd drive, you need to change the parameter, in parameter number 142, AVI source. To do this, I will add "o1" in parameter pr-142.

Now your second source of frequency is selected by changing the parameter 142. Now the question is how will you do the changeover? For that, we have to assign the source to any of the terminals of controlling (M0-M5) of Delta VFD as shown below.

Let's take "M4", M4 has to defined this function. Now go back to manual of Delta VFD, to the parameter which works for the M4, and parameter (pr-41) is for M4. So we have to select number "28" here which is a second source of frequency. Set this parameter 28 to M4, and go back to the PLC and you have to make one more program for M4. Download PLC program to PLC, and start the system.
