How to Lock the Parameter Writing in Delta VFD

In this lesson, we will be learning about how to lock Delta VFD Drive and how to disable to change Delta VFD parameters. If you will lock the delta VFD, no body can change the drive. That can be access by parameter 76 in the Delta VFD.

You can download Delta VFD manual free and can see details about different parameters. The parameter 76 says, it can lock parameters and configurations of Delta VFD drive. The details of this parameter 76 of Delta VFD are below;

  1. "00" All parameters can be set/read.
  2. "01" All parameters are read-only.
  3. "02 - 08" Reserved.
  4. "09" Resets all parameters to 50 Hz factory defaults.
  5. "10" Resets all parameters to 60 Hz factory defaults.

In the first option, which says all the parameters can be set or read which means parameters can be changeable.  If you put "01" this means all the parameters are read only. So by using "01", you can make the parameters read only. No one can write the parameters in that case. Now, this is the one way to do that. Another good way to disable or lock parameters in Delta VFD is, to lock the parameters on conditions. Without changing the drive, only with conditions. For that case, we can assign any of the control terminals to lock the parameters.

Let's take "M4" to work as parameter lock. To assign "M4" this function of parameter, let's go to the parameter number 41, which is of "M4".  This parameter says in "25" value, the parameter lock, write disable and read is always 0. So move to parameter 41 and put 25 there. Now, when "M4" will be energize, it will lock the parameters writing in Delta VFD.
