How to Get Relay Type Fault Feedback in Delta VFD

In this lesson, we are going to learn about VFD external fault feedback. How we can get external fault's feedback from delta vfd. This external fault can be your over voltage, over current or it can be from external terminal as well. In our previous lesson, we have learned external fault and reset. What we are going to do now here is, we are going to include external fault, just to show you how you can have feedback of external fault from the relay output.

For external fault, we have to use, let's say "M4" terminal, and assign "external fault normally open contact" which is "03" of parameter number 41. When M4 will get activated, this will indicated the drive that there is a fault. That fault will be from the relay output feedback terminal. This "M4" can be given from a sensor, from a limit switch for the fault alright. So, enter 03 in parameter 41.

Now, when "M4" will be switched ON, what will be going to happen is, our input of the PLC, input 5 will give us feedback of the fault. For the feedback, we have to change the parameter, parameter number 46, which says, multi function output terminal 2 (relay output).  We have to enter 07 to the parameter number 46 which is of fault indication.

Now, when you will run "M4", your drive will get a fault. When drive will get a fault, this feedback relay will give you a feedback.
